Goodies and a House Divided!!!

We got a nice surprise on Sunday from our friends Ruth and Ricky! They came over for a little cookout and brought the boys some goodies! They even got the boys their first teddy bear..... one Alabama fan and one Gator fan as you can see in the pictures. The bears are even personalized!! Now, we all know that they will both be Gator fans but in fairness I have to give Daryl's team a chance..... right???? They also got some really cute Gator outfits for the boys to wear for the upcoming season!! Go Gators!

Mark Your Calenders!!!

Looks like May 29th is the big day! That is if everything continues to go smoothly with the boys. That will be the day that we have our C-section. Not thrilled about having a C-section but the doc thinks it will be better for the babies. Especially the second one to come out. There can be a lot of complications with natural delivery of twins.

We also learned today that I have to go to the hospital once a week to have a NST... which is a stress test on the babies. They basically hook me up to fetal monitors and watch the heartbeats for about 30 minutes each time. Then after 34 weeks they do it twice a week. This on top of Ultrasounds every 2 weeks and regular check-ups every 2 weeks then every week after 34 weeks. I should just rent a room at the hospital since I will be there so much! Geese! All thanks to the miracle of twins!!

OH and one more thing.... Mama Scalise (Andrea's mom) got our car seats and a few odds and ends for us today from Babies R Us! We are getting down to the wire so it's finally time to start loading up! YAY!!!!!

Glucose Tolerance Test = YUCK!!!

I had to go and have my one hour glucose tolerance test today. YUCK!!! They make all preggie ladies have this test to check for gestational diabetes. You have to drink this Fanta-like drink minus the carbonation and probably 10 times the sugar. Honestly the drink did not taste that bad. But the problem came when the technician says "ok, you have 5 minutes to drink this." Umm, excuse me? No-one ever mentioned I was on a time limit to drink the damn drink. So basically I had to chug the stuff which I kept telling myself was a really cold beer. I don't think I made the 5 minute cut-off but she didn't tell anyone. Then you have to sit there for an hour and let your body react to the sugar. Side effects- nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and fainting- GREAT!!!! Thankfully I had none during the hour and she happily butchered my arm to draw the blood. Yes I say butchered because that was the most painful blood draw that I have ever had. Torture!

I tell you what, these boys better appreciate all this crap that I am going through for them!!! Yes I will be the mom who is always reminding them of all the crap that I went through too!! No walking 10 miles in the snow or anything, just 9 months of PURE HELL!!!! And a football season of no drinking. That may have been the hardest part!!

Again- who ever said pregnancy is a beautiful thing can.... well you know the rest!!!

Carter looking at us!!

You have to look really close, but I think he really favors Daryl. Same head and same chin- or at least looks like it. I know it's hard for most to see but we can totally see it!! haha. Just click on the picture for a bigger view.

27 Week Check up and Ultrasound

We had our first appointment with our perinatal specialist here in Orlando today. The office is at the hospital that I will be delivering and I must say I got nervous when I walked in. The anticipation of whats coming in the next couple of months kinda freaked me out today. Just being in the building I was scared. So just imagine how I will feel when we actually go in and get these babies.

The doctor was hiliarious! He is a University of Georgia graduate so we spent the whole time discussing Florida/Georgia football with a few snip-its of how the boys are doing. I kept trying to watch the monitor but it was usless. He even took me into his office to show footage of an old Florida/Georgia football game.

The boys are growing very nicely..... oh, and so is mom!!! I hate scales, well I have always hated scales but now I REALLY hate scales. They are both weighing in at 2.5 lbs! And apparently they are a little bigger than average. I guess we have Daryl to thank for that. Not bigger in a bad way- just big babies!!

Oh, and Carter (who is labled as baby B) winked at us today! It was so darn cute! It was almost like he knew where the camera was. Just like his mommy!!!

Nursery in progress pictures

Our initial idea for a nursery for the boys was going to be a brown and blue type theme. But, when we moved into our house this room was already painted the sage/white combo. It looks like a mint green in the picture but it really is more of a sage in person. I made the circles that are on the wall and plan on making a few more. Those were trial runs to see how it would look and I am very happy with them. Now we have A LOT more to add to this room but here it is in progress!

Now I just have to find a different bedding set because the ones I initally picked out don't really work in this room. Any suggestions???

Pictures of our house

Here are a few pics of the new house in Orlando. Its a great little house - wonderful location! It is so nice to finally be home :)

Moving Day

One word- EXHAUSTED!!!!! What a whirlwind the last 3 days have been. But we are finally settled in, well sort of, to our new house in Orlando. Daryl and I never actually saw the house until today and we were very pleasently surprised! It's a great neighborhood and a really cute house.

We had a ton of friends and family over this morning helping us unload the truck. I was pretty much useless to do anything except direct people and things where to go. But I still have been on my feet for about 8 hours today which is a big no-no! So I am offically preggy pooped!! Off to shower and relax on the couch for the rest of the night!
