GASP.....A new blog post!!

Wowsa!! May? Really? That was the last time I did a blog post on here? Well that's just shameful and I am very sorry but holy busy whirlwind couple of months we have been having around here!

So to bring you up to speed...Yes we moved in, we went on our annual summer trip back to Luverne and snuck a little trip to the beach in there too. Lot's of fun was had by all and the boys continued their love for the sand on the beach and their total disdain for the ocean or gulf water! Weird to me because they are all about some pool action!

My business has been booming and that has a lot to do with why there has not been a blog post recently. I feel like any downtime I have I am editing pictures, posting those and then the cycle just starts back up again. The sessions seem to come in waves...like a ton of them all together and then like 2-3 weeks with nothing then another boom. I guess that's just how the business works I suppose.

The boys have been growing and changing soooo much lately. Carter is full on talking and repeating EVERYTHING I say it seems. (no bad words yet thank GOD!) They have been loving the playground across the street a lot and the weather is finally cooling off a wee bit so it's not too bad at night. We of course have been doing our usual play dates but those have even slacked off a little because everyone has been so busy this summer and some of my mom friends have gone back to work:( Makes me sad that my day is not far off (well a few years)! I rejoined a local gym finally...yes much needed... and the boys have been going to the kids club while I work out. They love going there and always have a great time and it gives me a little "ME" time even if it's only for an hour and a half, it's still my time to myself and I love it!

On the gym note...my friend Amber and I have decided to train for our first half marathon. I know I'm a lunatic because the last long race I did was a 10K and I wanted to DIE after that but it was July in Atlanta in 100% humidity so that MAY have had something to do with it. We will be running the Disney Princess Half Marathon in February so there is plenty of time to get in gear! I just hope I can finish the damn thing without being picked up by the pace car people.!! haha!!

I will leave you with a few pics from our Sea World trip over the weekend. The boys had a blast...much more into it since the last trip we made in January. It was nice because we got there around 9:30 and left right at noon...it was plenty of time to see all of the exhibits just didn't make it to any shows this time but next time that will be our goal.

How to Survive a Move with Two 2 Year Olds and A Traveling Husband

Number 1. Have an amazing Dad that watches your two 2 year olds every weekend for almost an entire month
Number 2. Have AMAZING friends that give up their precious weekends to help you remodel, paint and move your entire house in a day
Number 3. Have an also amazing Mom who is really good at said painting and paints trim and cut's in like pablo picasso! Oh she and her husband also grout some tile like nobody's business!
Number 4. Have multiple move experience, and when I say multiple moves I mean more moves in the last 15 years to count on 3 hands people!! Ya I can pack a house like you wouldn't believe! I should start another business!
Number 5 and probably the most important of them all....... PATIENCE AND LOTS AND LOTS OF RED WINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whew!! What a crazy ride this whole homeowning thing has been! But I have to say it feels so good to wake up everyday in "OUR" house and to see all of the hard work of the last month really pay off! I actually got that warm fuzzy feeling the first night that I was here looking around at our beautiful home (not much to some but to me it's the best!) I love it all...honestly! I love the new tile, the new colors in almost every room, the new carpet, the new appliances (thank you Craigslist), the new countertop finish, the new ceiling fans, the new light fixtures, the new bathroom vanity and the super cute pottery barn kids shower curtain that I've been eyeing for over a year not needing a shower curtain and being very sad about it. (old house had shower doors). I love that the boys new room is going to be thier big boy football house divided inspired room. I love the gallon and a half of Navy Blue paint that I had to apply to HALF of the boys wall!! Lesson learned...PRIME the walls ANDREA!!! I love the Alligator themed bathroom..sorry no Elephants in here!! LOL! I even love my super cluttered guest room/office space just because!!

I know most of the people that helped us don't read this but I also know that most of my family does and I am so grateful for everything that each and every one of them have done. If it weren't for my Dad I'm not sure how all of this would have gone down. If it weren't for my Mom our ceilings would have paint all over them and our baseboards would look like pooh. Oh and Daryl would probably still be laying grout! If it weren't for my insanely handy sister in law April poor Daryl would probably still be tiling too!!! LOL!!

Our House.....

A few months back I had posted that we put an offer in on a house. Well that one didn't work out but another house in the same neighborhood did and we are now homeowners!! Woohoo!! We actually closed a little over two weeks ago but I am just now getting around to posting about it!

it was a bank owned home so it needed a little work and some updating that seems to be taking over our lives as we know them! We decided to re tile the kitchen and the guest bath, with the master bath waiting until next year sometime. We have also painted every room except the living room/foyer/great room area because I actually like the color in there. And of course we have had to replace just about every chandelier and ceiling fan since they are all pretty much straight out of the 1980's! The yard needs a ton of work and we still have to redo the kitchen counter tops and install the new bathroom vanity...all before May 23rd..Moving Day! Oh I guess I forgot to mention that Daryl will be going out of town, AGAIN, FOR A WEEK!!! AAAAGGGG!!! So we are running out of time to get all of this done! Oh and I forgot the new carpet that has to be installed as well!! Luckily there is only carpet in the bedrooms and the dining room which will become a playroom instead! I'm ecstatic about the boys having an actual playroom instead of my entire living room being taken over with toys! Oh and there are no stairs....ALLELUIA!! No more lugging the boys up and down, no more worrying that they will fall on the stairs, and no more laundry upstairs!

We are definitely learning a lot of things about home improvement! I'm starting to get on a first name basis with all of the Home Depot employees! Not something one should brag about though!

I keep being asked for pics and trust me I have some pics (of course I do right?) but I am not posting any pics until I have the "after" pics to show how it is all supposed to look! So bare with me a couple more weeks and I will have something to show you!

Where have the last two years gone? How did my little tiny preemies turn into these super cool little "boys"? :::sighs:::

We celebrated with a great MIckey Mouse themed party at one of our favorite parks here in town. All of the boys twin buddies came to celebrate along with other friends and family that made the day special too! My dad, or as the boys and Hayden like to call him, "Rock" got the boys a bounce house for their party and that was a huge hit with all of the kiddos, except Cam and Carter! Figures!! Then we had a suprise visit from the Fire Department! No need to worry though, my friend's husband is a Firefighter and he came by to say hi and show the kids the truck! No emergencies!! haha!! After the party we went back to our house to open all of our goodies! The boys of course got a ton of great stuff! Some of the things they got were puzzles, books, bubble machines, PJ's, clothes, Thomas the Train stuff, playdoh, Mickey Mouse stuff and lot's of gift cards to Toys R Us!

Then on Sunday we ventured out to Disney for the very first time with the boys! I have to say I was very nervous and stressed about the whole idea of taking them to Disney. The boys are very hot and cold with things like that. Sometimes they love it, and well most of the time they hate it! But today they LOVED it! We didn't start out too hot though. While we were waiting for our friend Gina to get us in (her hubby works there and has free passes) the boys had a total random freak out! Screaming like crazy kicking in the stroller! I was not happy. But once we got into the park they did amazing!!

We took everyones advice and headed over to Fantasyland first to knock out all of the kiddie rides that get busy during the day. It was perfect! Hardly any lines at all! We hit Small World, The Caraousel and the Teacups all before lunch. After lunch we went on The People Mover (I know this is not the name now but when I was a kid that's what it was called) then headed over to check on the line at the Jungle Cruise. While we waited for our fast pass time we hoped on Alladin's Magic Carpets. THis is basically just like Dumbo only 4 people can ride instead of just two. The boys loved that one! After that I had decided I really wanted to take them on Pirates of the Carribbean! I know you would think I'm crazy but I thought what the heck! I always rode it everytime I ever went to Disney as a kid so why not start the tradition with my boys? Well they did ok, but not great! It's a little dark and scary for them so I wouldn't recommend it for two year olds!! haha! After that we went over to Mickey's Toon Town and let the boys run around, or at least stand around. They were exhausted by this point and really just stood there at the play area! So we decided to make our way towards Main Street to hop on the train that goes around the entire park for our last ride. They liked it but like I said, they were so tired I don't think they even realized they were on a train!

Before we left I had to get the boys their very first personalized Mickey Mouse Ears! They were not interested in them whatsoever...shocking I know! We had to take the monorail back to Epcot because we had parked over there so that Gina could meet us to get us in. On the ride back Carter fell asleep in my arms, which made me very happy because he hasn't done that in about a year! Cam zonked out in the stroller and missed the entire ride home!

All in all I think the boys had an amazing birthday weekend! Thank you to all of our friends and family that celebrated with us and made the weekend even more special!

CHOO-CHOO!!!!!!

For most of the day yesterday that was just about all you heard from Cameron and Carter! Yesterday was our big Day Out With Thomas the Train! We had to get up super early since we had to be in Tampa by 8:45am for our 9:45 train ride. I am so glad we did it early because when we got off of our train ride it was crazy crowded!

When we arrived the whole place looked like someone threw up Thomas the Train! LOL!! There was train stuff everywhere! The boys went straight for the train table tent and spent a good part of the morning playing there. They also had an activity tent with trains in the sand, sand boxes, and some kind of painting arts and crafts (stayed far away from that part..lol) There was also bounce houses, ball pits, story telling and a hay ride.

The boys had such a good time. The only meltdown we had was when we had to pull them away to go get in line for our actual train ride....they were having too much fun playing with all of the other stuff! We sat in an open air car so the boys could see out really well. Cam seemed to love the train ride and Carter was a little unsure about it. It took about 10 minutes for Carter to loosen up on the actual ride itself.

Dad of course had to get all of the boys their official Day with Thomas t-shirts as well as a couple of other souvenirs! $70 later we had shirts,bowls and an official Thomas train whistle!

After the festivities we met up with some of the "coasties" part of my family for lunch at P.F. Changs. That was, well, an adventure to say the least. They boys had been up since about 6am, no nap and had been totally overloaded with activities so by the time we sat down for lunch they were spent. Lunch was not fun but it was great to see my family:)

It was a great day and I can't wait to take the boys next year!

Happy Easter 2010

Well we had a very busy Easter weekend! It started out on Friday when I met up with a few of my twin mama friends at a local park for a huge Easter Egg hunt! I was hesitant to do this solo but everyone else was going so I thought what the heck! We even practiced egg hunting during the week! Well as expected, Cam loved it and Carter, well Carter hated it! I literally chased him all over the park begging him to take his basket to get some eggs! NOPE...not having it! Luckily my friend Amber joined us and her daughter is older so she was able to help me!

On Saturday we had my Dad, Grandma, Brother, Sis in Law and my nephew Hayden over for Daryl's world famous smoked ribs! WE were also able to take them over to see the new house and everyone really liked it!

Then on Sunday we headed over to my Mom's which is a bit of an Easter tradition for us. We always do brunch and a Easter Egg hunt there as well. That hunt went over just about as good as the first one! LOL!

The Easter Bunny was very good to the boys too! They each got a Mr. Potato Head, new toothbrushes, Peeps, new hot wheels cars, Thomas the train take along train, books, bubbles and a fun Egg light up toy.

It was a great weekend for our family and I hope it was for yours as well:)

Day Out with Thomas!

I am so excited I can't stand it!! I was looking around one of my favorite message boards and saw that Thomas the Train was coming to Tampa! Last time I had checked a few months back the closest location was Miami and there was no way in hell I was driving 4 hours to see a train. Especially with the boys being so young and the possibility of them not really being into it! But then when I saw it was only an hour and a half drive I was sold!

For a whopping $20 per person (thank God kids under two are free) you get a 25 minute ride on a real Thomas the Train as well as lot's of other activities for the kiddos! My Dad, Brother, Sis-in Law and nephew Hayden will be joining us for the day as well! We are going next weekend so be sure to check back for the pics and update on how the boys do!

The weather is FINALLY warming up around these parts! Which to me is just crazy to say because hello it's Florida right? Well apparently we have had the coldest March on record and trust me...it was! WE are back into the high 70s now and the boys are loving our backyard time! Mom loves it to except that I have to "scoop" the yard before we go out everyday. (two dogs with lots of bodily waste).

This is where we sit out and watch the airplanes, listen to our neighbors (lol) and watch the birds fly over! They are definitely outdoors men in training. (that will make Daryl's family very happy)

WOW is all I can say!! No update in almost 2 months? I am sooo ashamed!! You know what the biggest problem with my blog is now? It has toooo much competition! Between the boys, buying a house and my work picking up I just don't have any free time to "blog"!! I feel horrible about it actually. This blog has been such a great way to chronicle the boys lives over the last two years and slowly but surely it's getting less and less "updates". I want to be better, no I will be better about it! I swear!

I really don't even know where to begin really because it's been so long! So I will just give you a run down of the things we have been doing lately!

March has been full of birthday party after birthday party! And most of them have been twin birthdays so that has meant double gifts! Not to worry though, I budgeted for the month of March a long time ago! We have been insanely busy just about every weekend! If we didn't have a party to go to I had a photo shoot or something! That's actually been great because the business is really kicking into gear and I am just thrilled!

The downside to running a photography business is my picture taking of my own kids has really dwindled! I mean BADLY!! It's awful and you would think I would use them as models for practice, and don't get me wrong I do, but just not near enough! I think the last pics I took was in February!! GASP!!!!

The boys are growing and it's happening waaayy to fast! The personalities are constantly changing and shining through! Their vocabulary is also growing everyday. WE are onto two word phrases now so that's good! I get a lot of "Was that" or if you ask Carter where his brother is he points to Cam and says "Rite derr" (aka right there). They also love to say "I see" whenever they see something! They love dogs and point out every dog we see. They are obsessed with the airplanes that fly over the house but they still can't say that one yet. I get a tongue twisted version of it so it just comes out like a spit!

They are still in love with all thing Thomas the Train but not as obsessed as they were back around December. (Thank God!!)

We have done lot's of new activities over the past month or so including a local puppet show which the boys really enjoyed! They really like going to the store now and they want to ride in the carts, not the stroller! Which is fine because I am sooo over lugging a stroller around!

We are also getting ready for their second birthday party! How is that possible? Ugh! We are doing a Mickey Mouse theme since we will also be taking the boys to Disney for the first time the day before their birthday!

On a family side note we have found a house and are set to close on April 30th! We are soooo excited! So if you think I was bad about blogging recently just wait until we actually get the keys to the house and move in. You can imagine we will be spending every waking moment fixing and redoing the house!

That's about it for now. I have a ton of videos that I am going to try and get uploaded sometime this week or weekend! They are hilarious and I'm sure you will enjoy!

Sea World

After many failed attempts to go to Sea World these past few weeks, we finally managed to get out there on Sunday!! My grandma gave all of us annual passes for Christmas this year! How great is that?

The boys did great, they seemed to enjoy looking at all of the animals but they weren't all about touching anything! We made the mistake of not getting there until 11ish so that meant that the boys skipped thier naps on Sunday but even with that they still did pretty good! They loved looking at the sea lioins which they kept calling dogs! I think because they had whiskers and noses that sort of resembled a dog's face I guess...who knows!!??

We skipped the shows this time since it was more of a scouting trip for me. I say scouting because I wanted to see what I could do if I didn't have any help with me! When my Mom's group meets we all have two kiddos so we aren't any help to each other really!! LOL!!

All in all it was a great day and can't wait to go back for some more fun!

Merry Christmas...only 3 weeks late!

Well now I am getting emails from my mom asking about an update and yes she is right...I really need one! Although I am not sure where to start! I guess we will start with Christmas! We did Christmas Eve at my mom's house which is a family tradition. Then we hosted Christmas Breakfast with my Dad, Grandma, Bro, Sis-in law and my nephew. After that we took naps (all of us) and headed over to my brothers for his annual Christmas festivities. Then the day after Christmas we packed up the car and headed out to Alabama for the weekend to see Daryl's family! Quite a whirlwind couple of days there!

The boys of course made out like bandits! They are very into Thomas the Train now so they got a lot of Thomas stuff! New trains, toys, Thomas Pj's..the works! They also got Cozy Coupes, ride on four wheelers, a new table to eat/play at and much much more!

Once all the hustle and bustle of the holidays had calmed down we put an offer in on a house! Yay! The only thing is it's a short sale so we basically have to just sit and wait for the bank to decide if they like our offer! It's so annoying just sitting here waiting and if they say no we are back to square one! The house is great! It's in a great neighborhood, in the area that we want to be in and the deal we would be getting would knock your socks off! So please cross your fingers for us! OH and one huge thing about the house....it has a huge separate PLAYROOM!! Woooohooo!! No more toys taking over my living room! Well I know there will still be toys but not to the extent that it is now! I mean I have an train table as an end table people!!

The boys are doing great. Finally getting over a pretty nasty cold that turned into double ear infections for both of them. They were some pitiful little dudes the past couple of weeks! We were stuck in the house on lock down for about a week and a half so you can imagine I was going crazy! This week was the first that we had been out since New Years! Of course I know you all know how cold it has been here for the last 2 weeks. We had snow and sleet last Saturday although I only saw the sleet! Still it has been freaking freezing here! But happy to report that today it will be back into the 70s thank God!!

One Huge Meltdown and Two Hours Later.......

Yes you read that right. We waited in line for almost 2 hours to see the "Best" Santa in Orlando! Why you ask? Oh I don't know...because I'm an idiot maybe!! LOL!! He is a cool Santa...very vintage old school Santa! But worth waiting 2 hours to see him only to have your children totally traumatized? Ahh I don't think so!

We all did great (I say all because Daryl was there too and not so thrilled about waiting) right until we were about 2 people away from meeting the big guy! I don't know what happened exactly but Carter threw an official temper tantrum right there in the front of the line! I mean threw himself down on the floor, screaming and kicking! Nothing would help so I knew we were pretty much S-O-L for the Santa pic! Well of course as expected all hell broke loose as soon as we sat them down!! All we could do was laugh about it and hope for a better outcome next year!

Our Attempt at Holiday Photos

Being a photographer, you are always behind the camera...never in front! So my Mom met up with us in downtown Winter Garden yesterday for some cool family photos. Alan, April and Hayden also met us so mom could get some shots of them as well! They have really revitalized this area and it really shows! It's an old historic district so the buildings are old and aged which I just love! They have an old train and old tractors set up as well! It's a great backdrop for photos!

As expected the boys were not having any part of any kind of group photo with mommy and daddy! They wouldn't sit still for one second...not surprised! They were more interested in running up and down the sidewalk then exploring the Choo-Choo!! Oh well I think we got a few decent ones..I hope!!

Quick Update

I just want to pop in and give a quick update because things have been crazy around here lately. I am up to my eyeballs in picture editing thanks to all of the mini sessions I did with the business. I had 6 families come out over two weekends and I have two more shoots this coming weekend as well as a newborn shoot on Wednesday. AAGGGHH!! I wish I could hire an assistant this week to help me!! Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining because busy means money and Lord knows we all need that these days!!

The boys are doing great! I think we are finally shaking the last of this cold/cough. I swear the nurses must be sick of me with as many times as I have called them over the last month now! We have just been doing the normal stuff lately with our playgroup! Daryl and I have taken the boys to a couple of art festivals over the last few weeks as well and that's really about it! I know, nothing spectacular or news worthy that's for sure:)

This week we are gearing up for Turkey Day! I am running my first 5K in over 6 years and I am not too happy about it! hahaha!!! We will be having Thanksgiving at my brother's house this year. That's great for us because the boys have a blast there with all of cousin Hayden's cool toys! They are entertained for hours which translates to mommy and daddy relaxing for hours:)

I know I won't have a chance to get on here anytime before the holiday so I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Gobble Gobble!!!

18 mth Check up

We had the boys 18mth check up today and Thankfully Daryl was able to come with me! Going to the doctor is now quite a traumatic experience for all of us...including the staff!! The boys now know where they are and from the minute we enter the room it's full on pandemonium!! Screaming, kicking, crying...you name it!! This was the first appt. that Daryl had been to since the boys were just teeny tiny babies so it was good for him to see the HELL that I go through every time we go to the doctor!

The boys have both had colds now going on about two weeks. We took them in last week and was told the same old same old routine of humidifier, saline drops and lots of fluids. Well here we are another week later and still in the same boat. So my regular doc gave us some antibiotics to help kick this infection!

They are growing fantastically!! Here are their stats

Cameron
Height-32.5 inches
Weight- 26.4lbs

Carter
Height-33.5 inches
Weight-26.12lbs

They both grew about 3 inches from their 15mth visit and gained almost 2lbs!

This visit is also a developmental evaluation . We had to fill out this very involved questionnaire basically to see where your child is at with all his communication, gross motor skills and things like that. We were a little behind in a few areas, more Cameron than Carter but none the less we have some things we have to improve on. She did say that it's normal since they are only 16mths adjusted due to their prematurity but as a parent you never want to hear things like that. Honestly I know they are behind on talking but other things I think they are doing fine. We will re-evaluate the situation at 20mths and see how they are doing and to see if speech or some kind of other therapy is necessary.

Storytime

On Monday I met up with some of my twin mommy friends for story time at Leu Gardens. They do it every first Monday of each month and the best part is that it's free! I knew we were in trouble when I pulled in to the parking lot and they were directing traffic! Once we got in it was total chaos for us! The boys don't handle crowds very well and this day was like no other! It was probably the worst I have ever seen them! I was mortified because everyone was staring at us and I could not get them to calm down. These are the days where having twins becomes very difficult! These are the kinds of things that parents of one child get to enjoy where as parents of twins do not! Days where I actually envy a mom that can do these kinds of activities and not have to try and calm two babies!
After story time we headed out to a local park where I surprisingly ran into my brother and my nephew so we had a little impromptu playdate with them too. We were all exhausted after we got home and I think the boys slept for like 3 hours! Guess we won't be doing that again anytime soon!!

Happy Halloween 2009

We had a great time on Halloween this year! Not only was it the boys first time trick or treating (we didn't' take them last year) but the Gators beat the snot out of the Georgia Bulldogs and that always makes me happy!!! Once the game was over we got the boys all suited up in their Batman and Robin costumes and that didn't go so well. Carter hated Batmans wings so we had to tape them down. Neither one of the boys would wear their hats or masks but I knew that would happen! Once we got moving outside they loosened up and had a really good time. They were up way past their bedtime but managed to get up right on schedule...7am! I think it was because of the time change though! I hope everyone had a great Halloween! Enjoy the pictures:)

18 Months Old

Seriously? They are a year and a half! How did that happen??

The boys are your typical 18mth old toddlers these days...into EVERYTHING!! But it is amazing how different their personalities have become! Carter is the sweet, lovable, snuggle bug and Cam, well....not so much!! He is a spitfire! Defiant, mischievous, but funny as all get out! He's turned into a bit of a bully to his brother. Whatever Carter has, Cam wants and will get no matter what. My friend Amber gave us a train table a few weeks back and they are totally obsessed with it! We finally had to glue everything together and glue the tracks down to the table because literally every hour the track was destroyed and all parts ended up on my living room floor. For a neat freak and an OCD organizer that becomes a HUGE problem for me!! LOL!!

Carter's vocabulary has literally exploded over the last few weeks. He tries to repeat pretty much anything you say which amazes me because Cam was the one who showed signs of talking first and now he has kind of slacked off a little bit. And that's how it's been for every developmental milestone around here. Some of Carter's words are Choo choo for his train, Ball, Pablo (from his fav. show), Go, Banana, mama, dada, dog, moo (for cow), boo (for book) See, Quack Quack (for duck) and MMM (for good when he is eating). We are working on Gator but all I get is Didi. Oh and they both like to put their shoes on and wave and say bye bye but it comes out as Dye Dye! So cute!!

They have conqured the stairs thanks to cousin Hayden showing them the way! They will climb all the way to the top but haven't figured out the way down just yet! Not to worry though, this only happens if mommy is on the stairs with them. Otherwise the stairs are gated!!

They have also become obsessed with books and their See and Say. Finally!! Before if you gave them a book they would just bite it and try to eat it. But now they sit on the floor, empty out the book basket and "read"! They love for you to hold the See and Say and pull the lever but don't ask them to do it...they will not have it! YOU have to do it for them!! Which you can imagine sitting on the couch for hours pulling a lever to hear animal sounds and Old McDonald play over and over again can become a little annoying!!

Once again my Grandmother has scolded me for not updating the blog in over 2 weeks!! I'm sorry!!!!! But the word BUSY does not even begin to describe what life has been like in the R household!!

So much has been going on that I really don't know where to start. So lets see, a few weeks back we had our twins group fall festival and that was lot's of fun! The following week was filled with playdates and the usual weekday things that keep me ridiculously buys. That following weekend we had a bit of a speedbump. See I was scheduled to hold my pumpkin patch sessions that Sunday. Daryl came home that Friday with news that he would have to head up to Alabama first thing Sunday morning to be with his family for his dads emergency surgery. I am happy to report that his Dad seems to be doing much better now!! yay! But that left me alone with the boys for 3 days with a full day of photo shoots. Thankfully my wonderful friends stepped up to babysit! But let me just give a shot out to single moms!! That is tough, I mean REALLY tough to do and I hope to God I never have to experience that full time!! And to mom's whos husbands travel all the time...big props to you too!! Whew what a weekend! And of course after the photoshoots I had photos of 6 families to sort through and edit. I am FINALLY finished with all of it! Learned my lesson on that one and I will never do that again! 6 in one day, 6 in 4 hours is CRAZY!!! Oh well live and learn I suppose!! So that has really occupied the little bit of free time I have had over the last few weeks!

Another Succesfull Splash Park Trip

And I have pictures to prove it this time! We met up with our friends at a local splash park today and had a great time. The weather has been sooooo HOT here this week. Such a bummer seeing as it's October and supposedly Fall and everything! We have record breaking highs this weekend...yuck! I am ready for some cooler weather around these parts! So hopefully this will be our last trip to a splash park until next summer.

Carter loved it once again and Cameron continued his disinterest in the water. Cam did however get a bit of a shocker when he didn't realize he was standing right on top of a fountain that was about to splash water up on him! It was the kind that go down for a few seconds (maybe 10) and then splash back up. I saw it coming but when you have two toddlers it's nearly impossible to save them both from all the little things! Let's just say he was none to thrilled about it going up his nose!

First Trip to the Zoo

A few other twin moms and I met up at the Sanford Zoo today. I have to say I was not impressed. I have not been to this zoo since I was in grade school and I can tell you that not much has changed! I think the little ones had fun but it was very hard for them to see the animals sitting in the strollers. We spent some time watching the elephants, the kids seemed to like them.
The zoo has a cute little splash park that we tried out as well but myself and Kristy spent the whole time chasing all the boys around since there was no gate....note to all splash park and playground operaters....please GATE OFF your areas!!!

As we were leaving we hopped on the little train that goes around the zoo and the boys seemed to enjoy that too. They were a little hesitant at first but after a few minutes on the train they came around! All in all it was a fun day with our twin friends:)

Winnie Palmer Miracle Miles Morning

We got up nice and early today to show our support for tiny babies at the Walk around Winnie. Winne Palmer is the hospital that the boys were born at and spent a month at while they were in the NICU. They had a couple of races as well as the symbolic walk, which is what we participated in. There was a group of us from GOMOTT (twins group) that all had NICU babies so we met up and walked together! It was a nice morning minus the heat and 110% humidity. I can't imagine running in that this morning..yuck!

There was also a block party with lots of festivities planned for later in the morning but the boys were hot and stuck in the stroller so we had to call it a day and head home earlier than expected!

Splash Park Success!!

Finally!! It has only taken the entire summer to get these boys convinced that the splash park is fun!! It took about 10 minutes but once Carter was in....he was IN!!! He had a blast just running in and out of the fountains! It was so funny to watch. What is so shocking about it is usually Carter is the one hanging all over me and not wanting to do anything and Cameron is the adventurous one. Well not today! Cam got in the water one or two times but other than that he wasn't feeling it so much! But I still feel accomplished with Carter!! I have some pics on my cell phone that I am trying to upload but having some difficulties!

We took the boys outside to play after dinner tonight and let me just say...they LOVE being outside! But it has to be pavement and not grass, they don't like grass whatsoever! Something I am sure they will grow out of! They kept running up and down our neighbors driveway for some reason. It was hilarious to watch and you will see from the pictures just how cute it was. They are really starting to interact with each other more and more. They love chasing each other around and playing tag...they giggle so hard when one catches the other!

When it came time to go inside...well...umm... let's just say it was a bit Nanny 911ish with Carter. Screaming, Kicking and whaling while I tried to carry him in! Tell me that is not what I have to look forward to the next few years!!!

Wow what a week/weekend we have had around here! I was fortunate, if that's what we can call it, to be given FREE Britney Spears concert tickets for the show here last week. I took my friend Amber and we had a great time! Then the next nite my mom and I took a useless Photoshop class at a local art school. I say useless because I didn't learn much of anything, it wasn't interactive and we had the most annoying people in our class that felt the need to ask pointless questions on a non-stop basis!! Ugh so frustrating and a complete waste of time!

We had a little playdate last Friday at a local splash park. The boys are not into the whole splash park think just yet. They are still a little timid around the water which I can not wrap my head around! They love the pool, they love the bath but not a puddle of water or a fountain of water!

Of course we all know that this past Saturday was the start of College football in the Richburg house! GO GATORS!! The boys and myself wore our jerseys all day and got many compliments on them!! My game was not on until later in the evening and Daryl's game (Alabama) wasn't either so that left us all day Saturday to play and boy did we! My favorite place for the boys these days had their grand opening party and it was free to all! IT was a total zoo but the boys had a great time! AR photography (that's me) gave away 3 prizes that I have yet to hear who won but at any rate it got my name out there! After that we headed over to Tracy's house for an awesome BBQ! Boys again did great! Then to wrap up the evening I went out to meet my friends to watch the Gator game and since Daryl knew that he wouldn't have a chance to watch his game amongst the obnoxious Gator fans he elected to stay home and watch his game!! Thankfully!!

Sunday was brunch with my family at BaCCo's then errands the rest of the day and today has been "Labor Day" literally!!

Another GOMOTT playdate

WE had a great turnout today at our playdate, about 17 kids and 8 moms! Some of the GOMOTT moms met up at Amaya Papaya and all the kids had a great time! Carter was a little cranky, rephrase that, a lot cranky for most of the time but after he had lunch he loosened up a bit. Cameron loves playing in the play grocery store that they have and Carter likes to hang by the train table! Cameron also loves pushing the little chairs all around the place. His friend Chase decided to join in on the fun and they had a little race! It was adorable!!

Sheesh I have not posted a blog update in 2 weeks!! I'm surprised I haven't recieved an email from my Grandmother yet!!

A lot has been going on here, mostly stuff that's work related for both Daryl and myslef. Daryl got a new postition at ADP, well it's the same position with additional responsibilites. So that has required him to spend a lof of time studying for his series 6 test coming up this Monday. (He had a series 7 that just expired a month before he got the new position...grrrr)

And the other big news on the Richburg front is the start of Andrea Richburg Photography. I have been playing with the idea for over a year now and just over the last mew months really settled down and started working on it! The website is up and I am open for business...officially! And unfortunatley for my friends that means no more free photo shoots!! haha!! sorry gang!!! Wish me luck because I am quite nervous about it!

The boys are doing great! We have been doing a lot of playdates but I have no pictures from them! We have been spending a lot of time at a very cool new indoor play lounge that recently opened up near our home. The boys have a blast there and it's nice and "somewhat" relaxing for me. It's pretty much baby proof and there is so much for the boys to do that I don't really have to worry about chasing them around somewhere!

Cameron is desperately trying to talk! Everything is DAH- then some other syllable at the end. Dah is for the following...Dadda, Doggie, Thank You, Eat, Juice....you name it!! It's really cute! Carter still isn't trying to talk all that much but they say that' spretty common for twins!

Last weekend we got up nice and early and headed out to a local Farmer's Market. After meandering through the crowds of people with our double wide stroller we decided to let the boys run around the park for a little while! I got some great new pics of the boys. Every day Carter starts to look more like Daryl and Cameron becomes more and more mischievous! I swear you can see it in his eyes!! LOL

Trouble Making at it's Finest!

So for a few weeks now the boys have been getting into the cabinet where I keep all of the plastic containers. It didn't really bother me, well except the mess I had to always clean up or the fact that I almost broke my ankle about 100 times in the kitchen stepping over all of the containers! Now keep in mind we had latches on these cabinets. Unfortunately the little stinkers figured out how to get them open so they did not good! Good news is I got some new latches over the weekend that work MUCH better so no more cabinet play for the boys:( I know I am such a mean mama!!

Monkey Joe's

We met up with Amber, Steph and all their little ones today at Monkey Joe's. It was the boys first time going and all in all they did pretty well. They were totally content just walking around the place exploring. They weren't in love with the bounce house things but I didn't expect them to really like those too much. Cameron definitely had the best time of the two but Carter seemed to like it for the first 30 minutes then he got overwhelmed by all the other kids running around.
The picture of Carter is just about one of my favorite pictures of him that I have ever taken. Guess he's not into crabs!! LOL!!

Weekend Getaway and Anniversary Celebration

On Friday we headed over to the West Coast to hang with some of my family and to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary! Daryl and I got to enjoy a very nice dinner at the place where we got married, The Rusty Pelican. It was so nice to go back and see where it all started!! haha!! The weather was perfect and the sunset was amazing...too bad it wasn't that way on our wedding day...grrr!! Oh and our dinner was awesome! They gave us a free dessert to honor our special day too:)
On Saturday we lounged in the pool and had a cookout with everyone. I think the boys stayed in the pool for about 3 hours straight, talk about some pruned up little feet and hands!
Then to top off our lovely weekend we came home in the middle of a huge thunderstorm and right as we walked into the house the power went out for the rest of the afternoon. So since it was so steamy in our house we went outside to play with our new bike trailer and I think I will let you be the judge of how well that went over!

Since it's been sooo hot out lately some of us twin moms have been trying to do more indoor activities. Well with a bunch of toddlers all under the age of 16mths that can be challenging to find so I decided at the last minute to have a little playdate here. My friends Allison and Kristy, both members of the twin club that I am a member of, came over this morning with thier little ones, Chase, Hunter, Morgan and Leighton. So I had a glimpse of what it would be like to have sextuplets....soooo never doing that!! The kids had a great time playing with Murphy and he handled all the toddlers very well! Enjoy the pics:)

Last week Cameron suffered from this lovely viral infection. Basically he had a sudden fever that lasted for a couple of days and was pretty high...102 at one point. Then once the fever broke he then broke out in a rash and that's when I knew this wasn't just teething. It made him a pitiful, clingy and extremely fussy little guy for the entire week. Good news is he's back to himself this week...causing trouble and being a stinker:)

Playdate at the Mall

A few other twin moms and I decided to meet up at the mall today so the little ones could play in the play area. The boys had such a good time! Most playdates we go on, Carter wants to hang all over me and Cameron likes to explore. But today Carter was like...see ya mom...and cruised around all over the place. The only snag was that Cameron kept trying to leave the play area and go "shopping"!! The place got a little crowded so we didn't stay too long, not to mention my fears of someone grabbing one of my boys and me not seeing it! I was paranoid before having kids, but now, oh boy it's borderline crazy paranoid! LOL!

So if you saw my post a few weeks back you already know that we found some great PBK knock off chairs. Well I finally got around to having them personalized and they came out GREAT!! I LOVE THEM! I had them done by a friend of a friend and I could not be happier! Her name is Crissi and she and another friend have a cute little store..The Paisley Gator (www.thepaisleygator.blogspot.com) She has some adorable stuff...I already told her to expect some more orders from me as football season approaches:)

Our Summer Road Trip and 4th of July

We headed out last week for our summer road trip first to Alabama then over to Atlanta for the 4th of July! The boys did not do so well with the car ride this time around. They only slept about 30 minutes up to Bama and about 30 minutes home from Atlanta...then proceeded to scream the last hour of the trip home! Needless to say our car was not a fun place to be on Sunday afternoon!

After spending a few days with Daryl's family we headed over to Atlanta to see some of my old friends, all who just happen to be current or former Delta flight attendants whom have all had babies in the last year! It was so great to see everyone and all their little ones! Our good friends Margo and Mike had a BBQ on the 4th and all the babies played together! It was funny to see all of us in a room full of babies...just 5 years ago we would have been hanging out at a local bar living the single life and now we are all mommies! Very surreal for me:)

All and all the trip went pretty well. WE did have a little mishap with Cameron though. He decided he was going to get into a fight with a very large coffee table...and well the coffee table won unfortunately:( Poor guy caught the corner of it and it missed his eyeball by a millimeter maybe? It was awful! The second it happened he had a HUGE lump and a cut. I would have taken him to the ER but Daryl's sister is an RN and she assured me it wasn't necessary. He's got a pretty bad shiner right now but it didn't phase him a bit. Uncle Bo told him it would make him grow whiskers seeing as he was so tough! No whiskers yet Uncle Bo!!

Oh and Carter enjoyed his first Rib in Alabama as well. He chewed on that thing until there was no meat left! He really is just like his Daddy!!

I guess since I am the only one who posts on here I will speak for Daryl and say that he had a good Fathers Day! On Saturday my mom, Dad, and brother all came over throughout the day to watch the boys while Daryl and I headed out with our friends to Disappearing Island. It was so much fun to be able to spend the day together without the boys...not that we don't love having them around but every parent knows a little time away from babies is a necessity to a marriage!! LOL! Our friends Tracy and Al invited us out on the boat for a day of floating, boating and a little adult beverage consumption. It was about 100 degrees outside so good thing we spent the whole time floating...although we were a little pruned at the end of the day! Gotta give a big thanks to my family for watching the boys all day:)

Meanwhile on Sunday we had the family over for some BBQ that Daryl had been smoking all day long. That was actually a treat for Daryl because he loves to BBQ!
The boys made Daddy a very special framed picture collage of themselves. They even finger painted the matt..well I helped out quite a bit but still!! I took pics of the boys holding the letters D-A-D and framed it so it spelled out DAD! (totally stole the idea from some other moms!) I think Daryl was very pleased:)

So last week I wandered into Big Lots to kill some time before meeting with Amber for her photo shoot and stumbled across some toddler chairs. Now for months now I have been wanting to get the boys Pottery Barn Kids anywhere chairs but just couldn't see spending that much money on chairs that they may or may not want to sit in. If I were buying one, I could see it but not two! Any who....so the chairs I found at Big Lots are IDENTICAL to the PBK ones and about 1/3 of the price:) The chairs were only $25 each! Now I am sure the PBK ones are far better quality but seriously for what I need them for, these will do just fine:) And to top it off..the boys love them! Now I just have to find someone to embroider the boys' names on them and we will be all set!
Oh and they are the perfect Gator blue so we will be embroidering the boys names in orange...much to Daryl's dislike! hehe!!

I just read an email from my grandmother saying she hasn't seen any pictures since Mothers Day. Well I am taking the "clue" and adding some pics!! I have slacked on my blog the last couple of weeks. We have been pretty busy since the last update on Mothers Day. Last week was pretty miserable around here with all the rain and it has rained everyday for like 10 days now. But now we are in our afternoon thunderstorm pattern so at least we can go out in the morning and have some fun! We had a good memorial day weekend but I ate way too many hot dogs and burgers. WE had 3 cookouts to attend in a 4 day period...I am over cookouts for a while!

The boys had their 13mth bday on Sunday of last week. They are both able to stand alone now. It's funny to watch because it almost seems like they don't realize they are doing it and once they do they don't know what to do with themselves and end up sitting down. Carter has been taking a few steps at a time but only if he is walking to me. He doesn't really do it with Daddy too much. That is a another issue in itself. We think Carter is well...becoming a bit of a Mama's Boy!! He is allllll about me lately. I mean I think it's sweet but I don't think Daryl is taking too much of a liking to it! Both boys are saying "mama" and "dada" now and doing a lot of imitation "babble"!! Cameron is clapping and waving but Carter looks at you like you are crazy when you clap at him. They have also started really interacting with each other a lot. They like to chase each other around the house with balls and bowls. They crack up when the other is coming towards them and then one of them will crawl the other direction really fast...it's sooo cute!

I had a wonderful Mothers Day thanks to Daryl and the boys. It started on Saturday when we went to get my new flash for my camera along with some other fun stuff. Then Sunday, I woke up to homemade breakfast pie...it would have been in bed but I can't sleep past 7am for some reason. Then later in the afternoon we headed over to my mom's house to celebrate with her and float around in the pool. The boys are loving the pool now. They love splashing around and playing "jump" with mommy or Daddy. Daddy is a little more daring than mommy but isn't that how its supposed to be?

This time last year the boys were still in the NICU and now look at them....WOW!!! Oh and you will have to excuse the picture of me from this year....I had just gotten out of the pool and was going with the au natural look! LOL!!

And it went very well! It's funny to think that this is the first time the boys have been in a pool but last summer I didn't feel comfortable putting them in the water without good head control. Plus they were just so darn small and the thought of getting in a bathing suit at that point was nauseating to me..haha!! (well it still is but I am getting over it)
We had a little crying in the beginning as I expected but after a few minutes they really got into it and seemed to enjoy it! Carter was so funny because he kept kicking his little legs around trying to "swim"!!

So last night as I was sitting on the computer I hear this shriek from Daryl calling my name out. He hit a note that I wasn't aware he had in his voice range. Scared the living crap out of me!! I jump up from the computer and run to the stairs only for Daryl to show me that Cam was standing all by himself! I was so amazed! He did it a few times so I grabbed my camera thinking he wouldn't do it again because that's usually what happens...I swear they know when I am filming...and sure enough he did it again! Wow my big boy!!!

Wow where has the time gone? What an amazing year we have had at the Richburg house with these boys! They both continue to amaze me everyday and I am very lucky to be their mommy!

Well no birthday would be complete around these parts without a big blowout! We had all kinds of friends and family come over to celebrate on Saturday. Daryl's family even came in from Alabama which was a very nice treat! The boys got lots of very cool stuff! From clothes to games to patio furniture and toys...they made out like bandits!
We also had matching outfits with shirts that said birthday boy on them but you will see in the pics that the outfit was quickly changed after Cam decided to get rid of his lunch just before the party started...all over his shirt:( It never fails with those two!

The cake smashing was by far my favorite moment of the day! They were none to thrilled to be wearing birthday hats as you will see on the video and in the pictures. But once they got a little taste of that cake...oh boy did they go to town. Carter was all about some cake and Cam was more about the icing! It was great!! Thanks to everyone who celebrated with us:)

As many of you know, birthdays are kind of a big deal to people in my family....mostly me!!! And since my children decided to come into the world just 3 DAYS after MY birthday you could kind of say my thunder is pretty much stolen as far as birthdays go from here on out!! BUT... I am totally fine with that...they deserve all the thunder from now on.

So all week long my family has been asking me what I wanted to do for my birthday and I really didn't have anything special in mind since my focus is on the boys birthday next week. After much him-hawing around we finally decided to go to dinner tonight at our good friends new Italian restaurant..BaCCos. It is delicious!! The boys were all about the spaghetti tonight! We made a HUGE mess but it was worth it:)

Our new swing set

For the boys upcoming birthday we decided to build a swing set in the backyard. Now it's more of a frame with 2 swings on it but close enough to a swing set in my book. The boys love to swing everytime we go to the park so I thought it would be nice to have it in my backyard rather than having to go the park everytime! They seemed to enjoy it a lot when we got home tonight as did Daryl and myself.

I posted a few weeks ago about our issues with the big bathtub transition. Well looks like the boys worked through those issues and can now happily bathe, and bathe together I might add! Tonight was the first time we put the boys in the bath together and man what a difference! They loved it and it saved me a little time as well. WE got a few pics but of course getting them to both look at the camera at the same time is darn near impossible anymore!

Our Easter Bunny Adventure

Well lets just say Santa is way cooler than the Easter bunny for these boys apparently! They cried as soon as we sat them down on the bunny's lap. They worked through it though and we managed to get a pic of them not crying. Well Cam is fighting the cry and Carter is just, well, just there! hahah!! Those little personalities keep growing and shining through with each day!

The twins group that I am involved with had their annual Spring party today and the boys got to enjoy their first Easter egg hunt, if that's what you call it!! The babies just sat and played with the eggs but it was still really cute! The pictures are too funny. The boys weren't too sure what to think of it all. I think they had a good time though but you can see towards the end that it was starting to wear on them!

I know there will be many more harrowing times as a mother. Times where your heart breaks into little tiny pieces when your baby is hurt or sick but yesterday was one of the worst moments for me so far.

We took Cameron in for his EEG test at the Neurologist. This was to rule out the seizure question, and to make sure there wasn't something else going on to trigger his little random head movements. The poor guy had to be sedated a little, not put under, just a little sleep drug (step above Benadryl apparently). I think it made him so sleepy that it just pissed him off. So we get into the test room and he is already screaming as the tech is placing 24 electrodes on his tiny little noggin and I am having to hold him down. He was so terrified. When she finally got them all on she had to wrap his head with gauze which made him look a baby Frankenstein to be quite honest. Once the testing started, she flashed this really bright light a bunch of times and that really upset him. How would you feel in a pitch black room with this huge fluorescent light flashing in your eyes? That's when I lost it. It all became too much for me and I literally cried for 30 minutes! He finally fell asleep and i still layed there with him with tears running down my face. My poor little baby was so upset and there was nothing I could do for him.

The good news is that we did not hear from them yesterday. The tech told us if the doc saw something we would know that very moment. So no news is good news in our case.

What A Week!

Oh I don't even know where to start! Daryl has been out of town this week so my friend Jen Howes came in from Atlanta to help me out with the boys. I would not have survived this week without her! We were so busy and did so much so this may end up being the longest post I have ever made! ahha!!

First I have to say Happy 1st Birthday to Kendal! We went to her birthday party last Saturday and it was a great time! Kendal's mom went above and beyond to make her party special and we were so glad to be a part of it!

Sunday I dropped Daryl off at the airport and picked up Jen at the same time! Very convenient for me:) Then Jen, the boys and myself headed out to the Winter Park art festival! It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. We sat outside and ate lunch at the Briarpatch and the boys did pretty well.

Then on Tuesday we headed over to Melbourne Beach to see our great friend Shelley who lives over that way. Shelley, Jen and I were all in Delta Flight Attendant training together and have managed to stay very close over the years. It was to boys first time at the beach and it was priceless! Cameron loved the sand and loved crawling around and playing in it. Carter...not so much! Cried anytime you would put him down. It was not the most ideal conditions at the beach that day. They had 30 mile per hour winds and a lot of man of war had washed up on the beach. The seas were really rough, although not that I would get in the water anyways! It was great for us ladies who just wanted to relax on the beach but not for babies who fell asleep within 20minutes of being there. It was too windy to put them down on the blankets, they would get covered in sand! OYEVEY!
I did manage to get some amazing pictures all of which I have to still convert to smaller files and do some editing to. I don't have it in me tonight to do that but hopefully by this weekend I will have a chance:) I also did a mini photo shoot with Shelley and her youngest on the beach! Got to keep practicing!

The rest of the week we ran errands, shopped, ate great food and just hung out. I am literally pooped! I don't think I have slept more than 5 hours each night so needless to say, Daryl is scheduled to arrive home around 10pm tonight and he is without a doubt....on FULL TIME DADDY DUTY for the entire weekend!!!!!

OH and to make this post even longer...the boys are 11 months! In less than 4 weeks they will be ONE! AAAGHGHH!! They continue to amaze me everyday! Cameron's newest thing is playing in the mirror! He cracks himself up. I need to get it on video one of these days. Carter has become a bit of a wimp...haha! Very clingy to me and not trusting of new people or situations! Apparently Daryl was exactly the same way when he was a baby! FIGURES!!!

Finally moving to the real Bathtub!

So what right? Well for us it is a big deal because I have tried for a very long time to get the boys in our bathtub for bath time but every time was a disaster. Screaming, kicking, flailing, you name it they did it. It was quite traumatic, at least for me. So I have been bathing them in the giant ducky tub on the kitchen counter but they are getting too big for that. I'm sure for a baby our bathtub is scary...it's big and deep with jets and all...that would scare me if I was only 30 inches long!! Cameron is definitely handling it better than Carter. You get a little whimper from Cam but it passes quickly! He seems to actually like splashing around with the water. Now Carter is another story. He hates it and makes sure that you know he hates it with the loudest screaming known to man!! Hope he gets over it quickly before I have permanent hearing damage:<

Sorry it has taken me over a week to update.....

We were fortunate enough to get a call from the Neurologist last week that they had a cancellation and were able to squeeze us in! So the Neuro does not think it is seizures, thank God, but we are still going forward with the EEG test just to make sure. He also wants to make sure that there is not something else going on to trigger Cam to move his head the way he does. I will know more after his test on April 2nd and will definitely keep everyone updated.

Who doesn't enjoy a good parade now a days? Well apparently Cam and Carter don't!!! OH boy was it bad. They really don't like loud noises and I assume that most babies don't but for some reason our boys REALLY don't like them!

We headed out to the Winter Park St. Patricks Day parade today and yes I know that St. paddy's day is over a week away but for some reason the city does this. It was a lot of fun and we met up with our friends Alyssa and Shari, both who are flight attendants for Delta. They had the usual fire engine and police cars...boys hated those, the bagpipers...boys hated those, classic cars who's horn did that Awuugga kind of horn....boys hated those too! It was actually kind of funny but I did feel bad for the little guys. Cameron was the worst and Daddy actually had to hold him for the whole parade.

We also got a new ride for the boys this weekend thanks to my dad! (thanks DAD!!!) I could not stand my old stroller and anyone that has seen it or been with me when I have it knows what a monster the darn thing was. Plus I felt like it was really uncomfortable for the boys. So we ended up getting a side by side which I said I would never do but I absolutely love it so far! We got a Combi Twin Sport in Wasabi. IN addition to new strollers we had to finally break down and get new car seats for them as well. They have outgrown their infant carriers so we had to "upgrade" to a big boy seat! So needless to say Babies R Us made a lot of money off of us this weekend...BUT.... I am quite proud of myself for saving a whopping $150 in coupons!! We got 30% off of the stroller and 20% off of the carseats! Woohoo!!

ON a side note...we got some not so good news on Friday. Cameron has to see a neurologist to rule out possible seizures. He has been doing a funny thing with his head over the last few Weeks where he shakes his head back and forth like 4-5 times in a row. I was able to get a video of it and after my doc saw it she wasn't sure enough to say yay or nay and felt like we should see the specialist. She did say it's a 99% chance it's absolutely nothing but still scary for mommy. I cried like a baby in the exam room when she told me and then I cried the rest of the afternoon but thankfully I have a very levelheaded husband who always has a way of calming me down with things like this... Anyways we have to wait until March 31st to see the neuro doc which ticks me off but it's the first avail. appt that they have. And if you google Pediatric Neurologists in Orlando you don't have very many options! So we could use a little prayers for Cam if you don't mind:)

Time is flying by lately! The boys are getting so big! Always on the move, always eating, always making mommy chase after them...ugh!!
They have both been pulling themselves up on EVERYTHING in the house and standing on thier own. Walking is still a few months off I think...I HOPE!! haha!

Our first GOMOTT playdate

So I am sure you are asking yourself what the heck GOMOTT is...well it's the Greater Orlando Mother of Twins and Triplets group! Today they had a play date for the kindergarten class of 2013-2014 and yes, that's us! That seems so far away but the boys will be going to school in 2013- geese!!

The play date was a little far away but I am so glad I finally went to one! The only problem was the boys...they were miserable the whole time. One major problem was that the play date started at 10am and that's right in the middle of our morning nap. I had thought that they slept in the car on the way over there but upon arrival it was apparent that was not the case! They fussed and whined the entire time that we were there! I lasted for about an hour and a half and threw in the towel. It was a good turnout with lots of babies crawling around! I am looking forward to another one next week...I just hope the boys will have more fun at the next one! Maybe they didn't like the cold weather like thier mommy. Swing adventures

After we had lunch to celebrate my Dad's bday with the family we headed over to Lake Eola park with Uncle Alan, Aunt April and our cousin Hayden. The boys got to play in swings for the first time...finally! I don't know what took me so long to take them to a playground. Maybe it's the fact that they can't walk and it never donned on me that they could get into the baby swing..I don't know! At any rate it was a lot of fun and they absolutely LOVED being in the swings! I see a swing set in our backyard in the very near future! 9 Month Stats and progress

The boys had their 9mth check up last Friday. Once again my mom went with me to help with the post-shot meltdowns! Thanks mom!

They are growing very nicely..almost catching up with a full term 9mth baby. Carter weighed in at 20lbs 10oz and 29.5 inches both of which are in the 75th percentile. Cameron came in at 19lbs 7oz and 28.5 inches long also in the 50-75th percentile range. The doctor was really pleased with how well they are growing and developing. I felt like such a proud mama! haha!!

Cameron has finally joined in on the full on crawling this week. Carter is all over the darn place! I really need one of those big play gate things! And just last night Carter was trying to pull himself up on the couch which is not something I have noticed before. Then this morning he found his toy basket and got up on the knees and proceeded to pull out about 5 toys in addition to the ones that I had already gotten out. I foresee my stress level rising in the next few months!

Other than that not much else to report. I did have my first Mary Kay party and it was a huge success! Big thanks to everyone who attended:)

So now we are onto the big birthday countdown! T minus 3 months and counting until the wonder twins turn one! Holy cow!!!!

We have a crawler and another tooth!

Cameron finally got his first tooth in! I have to say.. I hope this is how teething will go for the rest of the teeth because you would not have known that they were "teething" so to speak! I guess they were a little fussier than normal but nothing too horrible!

And Carter is officially crawling. It's full on crawling which means my life just got a little more hectic. Cameron is still doing the 2 step fall to the stomach thing but as usual he is almost there! I see potential for a lot of problems when these two get older with competition and Carter always doing everything first..uh-oh!

On a side note...I have started my Mary Kay business finally! We have gone back and forth with the idea of me working for a while now. Then a part time job opportunity a few weeks ago got me thinking that I could do it part time. Well when you are paying for 2 in childcare at once we are looking at aprox. $1600 a month people! And even part time with a friend of mine would have still set us back about $400 a month and if you are only working part time hours on part time pay that too is sort of a wash in the money department. Soooooooo I felt like the Mary Kay thing would allow me to be my own boss and work on my time not someone else's! Plus I have been using the products on and off now for about 10 years! WOOOOOOHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOO!! WE ARE SO EXCITED!!! And what a game! My stomach was killing me during the entire game...I was so stressed out! I went to a party while Daryl stayed home with the boys. He wasn't really interested in staying up late on a work night and the boys go to bed at kick off time so he let me go out and enjoy!

Today was a gorgeous day here so my mom and I decided to hit Park Ave. for lunch and shopping. I also thought it would be a good chance for me to play with my camera some more. We are heading up to Gainesville on Sunday for the Championship celebration in the Swamp (for those who don't know that is the stadium)! We are planning on taking the boys up and it will be their first time in the Swamp! How fun!!!

It is amazing how fast last year went by. I am sure it has a lot to do with the fact that I gave birth to two babies and all but geese...where did the time go? What a great year it was!

Our new years eve was pretty mellow. My cousin Amanda had a small get together at her house which was lots of fun. The boys were asleep by 9pm so they missed the ball drop but I managed to stay up and was very proud of myself! Seeing as I am usually asleep by 9:30pm every night, I was fully expecting to be that person on the couch sitting up with my eyes closed!

I hope everyone had a fabulous NYE and here's to a prosperous 2009....I HOPE!!!!!!! haha!!

Our First Christmas

What a whirlwind of a week! We headed out on Monday to Alabama to spend time with Daryl's family. Christmas Eve is a big tradition up there so we got to enjoy that with all of them! The boys were totally spoiled as to be expected! They got lots of toys and goodies from everyone! The drive up there was a little hairier than the last one but my Mom got us a portable DVD player and a Backyardigans DVD and it literally saved the day! The thought of getting a DVD player never really crossed my mind since they are so young but man did it come in handy! They didn't sleep as much as the last time either so that made the drive a little longer as well.

We woke up around 4am on Christmas day to head back to Orlando so that we could enjoy Christmas with my family. We are totally exhausted but it was all worth it!

Santa brought something extra special for Carter....his two lower front teeth! And it looks as though there are little nubbs coming in on both sides of those teeth as well. Not sure if it's the other teeth or part of the 2 front ones but none the less we finally have teeth! No sight of toofers on Cam but I am sure within the next week or so we will see some popping through!

Oh and they had thier 8mth bday on Christmas Eve! They have really made a lot of strides over the last month or so. They are finally sitting up but you have to be close by since they are a bit weeble-wobble like. And I know I have been saying that they are going to crawl any day now but seriously, any day now! They have been rocking on all fours for about a month now so we shall see.

We are "trying" to introduce some table type food. Mostly just the little Gerber puffs that melt in thier mouth but watching them try to pick them up and put them in thier mouths is hilarious!

The Neighborhood Christmas Parade.

We got to enjoy the annual Hollowbrook Christmas parade yesterday. It was short but really cute and the weather was great, nice and chilly to get us Floridians into the Christmas spirit. Santa came by on a big Fire Engine and some of the neighborhood churches and groups make floats and pass out candy. Our neighbor decoarted his speed boat with a big blow up Santa and his helpers.
It's funny to watch the boys expressions with these kind of things. They seem so focused trying to take it all in. Almost like they don't know what to think of it all!! Which I am sure they dont!!

GATORS BEAT BAMA FOR THE SEC TITLE!!!

WOOHOOOO!!!! We had a big party at our house on Saturday to celebrate the SEC Championship game between Alabama and Florida. Now for those who don't know already, I and the rest of my family and MOST of my smart friends are all huge Gator fans! But Daryl, well he is an Alabama fan. And it was not a good day for him! We were definitely a house divided. Even the boys were! Cameron wore Alabama colors and Carter wore Gator colors. The only way I was able to choose was based on the bears that our friends Rick and Ruth got them back before they were born. They had 2 build a bears personalized and one was a Bama fan and the other a Gator fan! A little foreshadowing there on Ruth's part!! haha!!

The boys had a rough time at the start of the game. The screaming and sudden noises really upset them at first but then they got used to them after a while. They are so much more aware of everything around them and they seem to scare a lot more easier now.

We had a great time at the party! Although I had an incredible stomach ache through the whole game because I was so stressed out but with about 1 minute left in the game I knew we had it won! Now the Gators are off to Miami for the National Championship game against the Oklahoma Sooners! GO GATORS!!!!

7 Months Old

The boys had their 7 month birthday yesterday. They are getting so much bigger. I remember holding them when they were 3lbs thinking how tiny they were and now when I pick up one of them my back hurts!!

They are much more "mobile" now adays. You can't put them down on a play mat or blanket and walk away anymore because you will find them across the room! Carter is still trying to crawl but not quite there yet. They are a little behind on the sitting up unassisted thing but they are getting really close. People say one day they will just sit up and do it!

Our food palate is ever expanding. We have moved onto the pureed meats and meals. They seem to really like trying new things which is good. I can tell when they really like something because they both kick and reach for the spoon, super cute.

And getting pictures of them together now is nearly impossible. I tried my monthly pictures yesterday and it did not go so well. The one I posted is the best I could do! One will wiggle down, the other will look away or poke the other in the eye...not fun!

We are getting ready for our first Thanksgiving which my brother and his wife will be hosting this year. I am ready for some Turkey! I hope everyone has a great holiday:)

And I love it! It's awesome even though I have no idea how to use it properly!! haa! I have a lot of reading and learning to do but I am so happy with the purchase. We got a Nikon D60 digital SLR camera. It's pretty user friendly but far more advance than my little point and shoot that I am used to.

I did a mini photo shoot yesterday with the boys. They were great. It was Daddy that was not so great. Daryl is not into the picture thing and it's quite obvious! He's a terrible model...so tempermental! haha!!

And if your wondering how and why we would spend money so freely in our current economic situation.....well, I sold our Nintendo Wii because it's been sitting next to our T.V. since about August and I have not turned it on once!! Now I just need to sell the Wii Fit and the camera is essentially paid for. I also have to thank GiGi (my grandma) for donating to the Richburg camera fund as well. I think she hopes that I will be the next Anne Geddes!! haha!! A girl can dream right?

New Kids On the Block

AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! That's all I have done for 48 hours straight between the Gator game and the New Kids concert I know sound like Kathleen Turner, and not the sexy Kathleen Turner...more like the "older" Kathleen Turner.
The concert was incredible! They were just as good if not better than they were 20 years ago! We once again had amazing seats and Steph got MUCH better pics than I did but I am fairly certain that no-one that reads this blog cares anything about seeing a close up of my dream guy...JOE MCINTYRE!! I guess I should rephrase that and say my runner up dream guy cause Daryl is my real dream guy! (Do your teeth hurt yet from the sweetness?)

Florida vs. Georgia

So on Saturday Daryl got husband of the year award and stayed home with the boys so mommy could go watch the Gators beat the heck out of the Georgia Bulldogs! We had amazing seats right on the 10 yard line. We even got on T.V.!! Of course I had to pause and rewind a few times but we are on there and that's all that maters! The game was awesome! We got total revenge for what happened last year.
We started tailgating at 9am with mimosas and I think I cracked open the first beer of the day at 10am. But let me say this, I can not hang like I used to! I was exhausted by 1pm and the game didn't even start till 3:30pm! But it was all worth it to see such an amazing game.

How about Friday...Halloween! We decided to stay home and hang out with our neighbors to hand out candy since it was our first Halloween in this house. We had a great time hanging out but didn't have too many trick-or-treaters though. The boys did great just chilling in the stroller in their dragon costumes.

The boys are 6 months old today! Wowie!! I can not believe that I gave birth 6 months ago. Whats worse is I can't believe I still have 15lbs of "baby weight" on me. Can I still call it baby weight? I hope so. I started weight watchers this week. Here's hoping!!

But back to the boys.... they are getting so big and doing so many new things! Carter is all about his tummy and trying to crawl. He just strains so hard on the floor trying to move around on those knees...any day now! Cameron is slowly getting the rolling back and forth thing. You don't see him do it much, he is very stealth with it apparently, but you find him on his tummy after you have left him in his crib or on the mat on the floor. It's almost like he doesn't want us to know!

They are both eating lots of different foods now. They had peaches today for the first time and LOVED them! They are not fans of squash and honestly I can't blame them because it's very stinky so I imagine it tastes' like crap! They love carrots and green beans, not big on peas though (can't blame them on that one either).

We finally got another crib so they are now sleeping in thier own beds. The first night was rough. I think they missed each other.
Oh and I am fairly certain we have finally mastered sleeping through the night. They go down between 8 or 9pm and don't get up until about 6:30 or 7am! Which means I will never, ever sleep past 7am EVER AGAIN :( !! But it is better than thier old wake up time of 4;30am or 5am!

We go for our 6mth check up next week so I will have all of their stats for you! My mom is coming with me so that I don't have to console 2 babies after shots alone...not fun!!!

We headed out to the pumpkin patch today to have some professional pics of the boys done. It was one of the prettiest days we have had around here in a while, perfect for outdoor pictures! I can't wait to see the proofs! As soon as I get them I will post the link on here so you can all see them. Don't be disappointed if you don't see any smiles because it is very difficult to get two 6mth olds to even look at you let alone smile when there is so much going on around them! I swear they never smiled in any picture... not one!!
We managed to take a couple of our own pics during our downtime while we were there. Oh and yes, we got our pumpkin too!

Tummy Time

As I got out of bed this morning I realized 2 things. One, Daryl had fallen asleep on the couch and slept out there all night and two, the boys had not waken up yet and it was 7am!! So I look at the monitor and there they were.... on their tummies!! Yes that's right, both of them!! Carter has been sleeping on his tummy for the last week or so, but Cameron was a total shock to me! So I guess he finally figured out the whole rolling over thing too. He just needed his little brother to show him how. And the tummy thing makes me a little uneasy, due to the fact that they drill in your head to put your babies on their backs to sleep. But at 2am when a baby has rolled over on his own, that's just where he is gonna stay. I asked around to some other moms who had this problem and their docs told them to just leave them on their tummies if they are sleeping!
It's also been really interesting to see how Carter learns new things on his own and Cameron is usually about a week behind him. As soon as Carter learns something new you can bet that Cameron isn't far behind!

The boys are not big gigglers yet, but you get huge smiles and screams. So last night Daryl was playing with Cameron and gave us a taste of the sweet giggle!! Love it!
